2019 Walk Kansas will have its Kick-Off event next Tuesday at the Bowyer Community Building from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.
Walk Kansas is a team-based program meant to encourage the participants to live a healthier lifestyle by exercising more and eating more nutritious meals.
Several events will follow the Kick-Off until the program concludes in May:
- Poker Walks every Tuesday at C of E Park from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.
- Food Too Good to Waste on April 2nd at the Bowyer Building at 10:00 am and 7:00 pm.
- Pickle Ball on April 17th at the Emporia Recreation Center from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
- Everyday Mindfulness on April 30th at the Bowyer Building at 10:00 am and 7:00 pm.
- The wrap-up event, Poker with a Twist, will be at C of E Park on May 7th from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.
Poker Walks have been a part of Walk Kansas for some time now, and Lyon County Extension Agent Rhonda Gordon talks about these walks are.
