The Emporia State womens basketball team is headed back to the NCAA Central Regional Tournament. After finishing the season 22-8 the Lady Hornets received an at large bid.
The Lady Hornets are the 7th seed and will play Southwestern Oklahoma State, the number 2 seed. Game time has been set for 2:30p Friday.
Coach Toby Wynn is happy the Lady Hornets get to continue their season.
Senior Addie Lackey will be making her 4th NCAA Tournament appearance.
Fort Hays State is the number 1 seed and will host the tournament that begins Friday and wraps up next Monday. Fort Hays State will play Pittsburg State the 8th seed.
Central Missouri is the 3 seed and will play Lindenwood.
Minnesota Duluth is the 4th seed and will play Minnesota State Moorehead.
This is the 20th NCAA Tournament appearance for the Emporia State women. Coach Toby Wynn is happy to continue the tradition.
Fort Hays State won the MIAA tournament championship with a 63-56 win over Central Missouri.
Southwestern Oklahoma State won the Great American Conference tournament championship.
Minnesota Duluth won the Northern Sun Conference Championship.
Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $5 for students and youth. All seats will be general admission, however each team will have an allocation of change out seats behind their bench for each game. Ticket will go on sale in the FHSU Athletic Office, by phone at (785) 628-4050 or online starting Tuesday, March 12 at 12:00 p.m. The last time the regional was hosted by Ft. Hays State every session had an attendance of at least 2500 with a high of 4,955 for the championship game between Emporia State and Ft. Hays State.
