The Emporia State baseball team out scored William Jewell 8-2 Thursday. The Hornets broke open a close game with a 4 run 7th inning.
Mitch Sloan hit a bases clearing double. Tanner Cairns picked up the complete game victory on the mound. The Hornets are now 7-6 for the season. They will host Fort Hays State in a 3 game series beginning Sunday.
