If you thought funding for the Eureka Junior-Senior High School Activity Center was settled, it’s not.
A re-vote, not a recount, is needed in Eureka as voters will head back to the polls later this month to vote on a new activity center. Greenwood County voters have already cast their ballots on this topic, approving the $7.5 million bond measure with almost 59 percent of the nearly 800 votes in favor. However, the legal notice was not correct so the election had to be voided.
The new election date is March 19. Advance voting is currently underway and ends March 18.
The prior activity center was destroyed by an EF-3 tornado last June.
