An Emporia man who allegedly stole a truck in Emporia late last year and led a short chase out of town is set for a preliminary hearing Wednesday.
33-year-old Blake Cheney was charged in December with aggravated burglary, theft, flee and elude, reckless driving, criminal carrying a weapon and driving while revoked or suspended.
The charges follow a mid-December incident where a pickup was stolen from the 1500 block of Thompson, leading to a vehicle pursuit and foot chase that ended at a rural farmstead in the 1200 block of Road 160 just south of Emporia.
The hearing is at 10 am.
