The Emporia State baseball team walked off with not 1 but 2 wins over Lindenwood Friday afternoon.
The Hornets scored the winning run on a wild pitch to win the first game of a doubleheader 4-3. Drew Scrimsher was the winning pitcher tossing 2 scoreless innings in relief.
In the 2nd game the Hornets scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 9th. Brian Grove scored the winning run on a single by Alex Pener. Cooper Minnick started the rally driving in 2 runs with a double. Brian Grove drove in a run with a single. Tucker Perkins drove in a run on a fielders choice. Alex Peners game winning hit came with 2 out.
With the wins Emporia State swept the 3 game series from Lindenwood. They are now 6-6 for the season and 4-2 in the MIAA. They are scheduled to play at Fort Hays State next weekend.
