Malik Hluchoweckyj scored a career high 24 points to lead the Emporia State men to a 83-76 win over Northeastern State Saturday.
Malik made a game high 5 three point shots to lead the Hornet offense.
Julius Jackson added 22 points, making 11 of 13 free-throw attempts. Kooper Glick finished with 14 points.
There were 8 lead changes and 8 ties in the game. The Hornets closed out the game on a 42-30 run after trailing 46-41. Coach Craig Doty was pleased with the way the team battled in the final 5 minutes.
The Emporia State men are now 12-15 for the season and 7-11 in the MIAA. They are in a 3 way tie for 9th place in the standings with a chance to finish as high as 7th. They close out the regular season Saturday at Central Oklahoma.
