Tyra Jones scored a game high 18 points to lead the Emporia State womens basketball team to a 68-59 win over Northeastern State Thursday night.
Tyra also finished with 5 rebounds and 5 assists.
Emily Miller scored 15 points, making 10 of 11 free-throws.
There were 3 ties and 4 lead changes, all in the first quarter. Emporia States biggest lead was by 13 points in the 4th quarter. The Lady Hornets out scored Northeastern 34-18 in the paint. Coach Toby Wynn says that was the big difference.
With the win the Lady Hornets are now 22-6 for the season and 13-5 in the MIAA, in a 4 way tie for 3rd place. They Close out the season Saturday at Central Oklahoma.
