The Emporia State baseball team won their home opener, out scoring Lindenwood 13-4 Thursday.
Emporia State scored 5 runs in the 6th inning to take a lead they would not give up. Tanner Arst led the offense going 3 for 5 with 2 RBI. Connor Hurst was 1 for 3 with 3 RBI. Tanner Cairns was the winning pitcher going 7 innings giving up 4 runs on 8 hits, 4 strikeouts and 3 walks. The Hornets and Lions play a doubleheader Friday with first pitch at 12:00p at the Trusler Sports Complex.
