An Oklahoma man was killed in a two-vehicle crash outside Eureka on Thursday.
The wreck happened at noon at the junction of US Highway 54 and Kansas Highway 99, about three miles east of Eureka. The Kansas Highway Patrol says 53-year-old Terrence Lucas of Eucha, Okla., was northbound on Highway 99 and failed to yield at the junction. His truck was then hit by a semi driven by 64-year-old Dusty Booth of Eureka.
Lucas was pronounced dead at the scene. Booth was taken to Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka with suspected minor injuries.
Highway 54 was blocked for nearly six hours after the crash. K-99 traffic was also diverted for several hours afterward.

At least one person is confirmed dead after a crash near Eureka on Thursday.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says the crash happened at the junction of US Highway 54 and Kansas Highway 99, about two miles east of the Greenwood County seat, and involved a semi and a passenger vehicle. The Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office says the first emergency calls for the crash started coming in around noon.
The Highway Patrol has closed US 54 to through traffic until further notice. It says Greenwood County is detouring K-99 traffic to S Road 1600 until further notice.
