Emporia Police investigations continue now two months after a pair of significant criminal incidents in December.
An investigation is ongoing after 39-year-old Anthony Evans was found shot outside a house in the 800 block of Sylvan on Dec. 16. So, far no arrests have been announced in direct connection to the shooting. Two persons of interest were arrested after a chase two days after the shooting and were charged with counts linked to the chase, not the shooting.
Separately, an investigation is moving forward after four vehicles were stolen from Lopez Auto, 515 Albert, in early December. All the vehicles were recovered, although one was found burned to a crisp near Madison. Suspects have been identified but not named as of last word. No arrests have been announced.
A reward of up to $1,000 has been in place for the shooting incident since early January. The reward through Lyon County Crime Stoppers will be paid for information leading to the arrests and convictions of those involved.
