A reward is now being offered as local law enforcement agencies search for a robbery suspect.
The investigation began after an unidentified black male allegedly went inside Max’s BP convenience store at 202 East Sixth — less than a block from Emporia Police headquarters — around 10:30 pm Tuesday night and demanded cash from the clerk, saying he had a gun. The clerk handed an unlisted amount of money to the suspect, who then fled on foot.
Emporia Police has provided a photo of the alleged suspect. Additional descriptive information has not been released. Emporia Police are saying the time stamp on the photo — shortly before 1 am — is incorrect.
Lyon County Crime Stoppers is now offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this case.
