A court appearance is planned this week in the case of a former Chase County jail staffer accused of having unlawful relations with an inmate.
Courtney White-Dold was formally charged in late January after alleged activity from late June to early September. Her hearing is tentatively set for 10 am Friday in Cottonwood Falls.
Authorities say they encountered an incident, in the Chase County Jail in late September allegedly involving White-Dold and a Sedgwick County inmate who was in the Chase County jail due to overcrowding. Further investigation led authorities to allege additional contact between the two, including phone records and texts with several indicating sexual contact.
White-Dold joined the jail staff in August 2017 and was fired in late September.
