Emporia State’s Jessica Wayne has been named the MIAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Week after she averaged 18.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals in two Lady Hornet wins last week.
She had 20 points, six rebounds and two steals in Emporia State’s 80-77 win at Southwest Baptist on Thursday night, including the game winning layup and free throw with 2.0 seconds left. She came back with 17 points, five rebounds and three steals in the Lady Hornets 65-62 win at then #21 Central Missouri on Saturday.
She shares the honor with Fort Hays States Belle Barbieri.
