With football season in the rearview mirror, it’s time to shift focus to the next important series – Girl Scout Cookie season.
It’s that time of year and the Girl Scouts will officially begin their cookie sales this Saturday. A kickoff event will be held the evening before at the Bowyer Community Building. Angela Cheever, volunteer support specialist for the Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland previews the kickoff.
This will be the Girl Scout’s 102nd year for selling their trademarked cookies. Cheever says that all of the beloved classics will be sold again, and a new cookie will also be available.
Girl Scouts will have booths at the Flint Hills Mall, Wal-Mart, and other local stores throughout the season. Some Girl Scouts will even be going door-to-door. To find out specifics on when and where booths will be, call (888) 686-6468 or download the free Girl Scout Cookie Finder mobile app.
Cheever also wants to remind everyone that it’s never too late to join Girl Scouts. If you’re interested in joining or know someone who is, call (620) 342-4532.
