The Lyon County History Center has finished updates to its third floor and is ready for public use.
The third floor of the History Center is now completed and available to the public to schedule events. Attention will now turn to updating the second floor, which houses all of the exhibits.
The third floor space can now accommodate up to 200 people. Executive Director Greg Jordan discusses the updated third floor and the changes coming to the second floor.
Along with building updates, the History Center has a number of events that are coming up. On Feb. 12th, the 81st annual meeting will start with a social hour at 6:00 pm leading into the business meeting where discussion of 2018’s accomplishments will dominate, and ending with a special program for 150th anniversary of railroading history in Emporia.
Also coming up will be the International Diversi-Tea & Coffee, and Jordan offered a preview for the cultural event.
