Greenwood County deputies are looking for a man who allegedly stole a pickup and then fled from authorities late Tuesday night.
The Sheriff’s Office says deputies tried to stop a green Chevrolet pickup for a traffic violation just west of Eureka shortly before midnight. The driver, later identified as 31-year-old Tyler Hatfield of Wichita, did not stop and deputies gave chase into Eureka — with Hatfield allegedly driving through several yards before abandoning the truck in the 1100 block of North Walnut.
Greenwood County says Hatfield has active warrants for his arrest and has “numerous ties” to the Eureka and nearby area. Authorities say Hatfield is known to steal vehicles and may still be in Greenwood County.
