Discussion over income inequality has grown in recent years, so the Koch Center held an informational lecture over the topic at Emporia State University.
The speaker of Monday night’s lecture was Dr. Robert Subrick, who is an associate professor of economics at James Madison University.
Income inequality is defined as an uneven distribution of income throughout a population, and Dr. Subrick explains potential reasons for the growing issue.
With income inequality continuing to grow, Dr. Subrick says it’s important to be aware of the issue to understand and help combat it.
Large-scale methods to help remedy the gap include refraining from marking buildings as historical sites and make it cheaper for developers to build new apartment complexes.
More informational lectures will be coming to ESU with a variety of topics being covered. For more information, email the Koch Center at kochcenter@emporia.edu.
