The United Way of the Flint Hills is nearing the end of its annual fundraising campaign.
The annual celebration luncheon date and location are now set, according to Director Jami Reever.
At last word, the campaign was at $500,000, or closing in on the goal of $555,000.
Reever says the campaign has seen a number of workplace campaigns come in better than years past, including Simmons Pet Food, which donated over $33,000 as part of a check presentation Friday — up over $10,000 from last year’s campaign.
Before the campaign ends, Reever says several local workplace efforts will wrap up and money from some national or regional United Way efforts will also come in.
