A Coffey County woman was hurt in a wreck south of Hartford on Friday night, although authorities believe her injuries were minor.
Initially, law enforcement and rescue crews were dispatched to the 800 block of Road Z, later listing the crash address two miles south in the 600 block of the road.
The Kansas Highway Patrol’s crash log corrected that location to the 600 block of Road Y-5, half-a-mile south of Road 70. It says 48-year-old Michelle Jordan of Gridley was southbound on Y-5 when her SUV left the road to the right. She lost control of the vehicle, which then crossed the road to the left, went down an embankment and stopped in Fourmile Creek — narrowly missing a bridge railing in the process.
At this time, it’s unclear if Jordan herself got into the creek.
Jordan was taken to Coffey County Hospital in Burlington with suspected minor injuries. She was not wearing her seatbelt.
