The search is over for a reportedly missing Emporia woman.
Maria Isabel Pacheco, 48, was reported as missing to Emporia Police by her daughter, who told authorities Pacheco went out for cigarettes around 1 am Wednesday and didn’t return. Police Lt. Kevin Risley tells KVOE News that Pacheco was found at a friend’s house later in the day and was in good shape.

5 pm Wednesday: EPD investigating after woman reported missing
Emporia Police are investigating what they call a possible missing person incident from early Wednesday.
Maria Isabel Pacheco, 48, was last seen leaving her home around 1 am to get cigarettes. She never returned home, according to her daughter.
Air temperatures were in the low teens and wind chills were at zero when Pacheco went on her errand. Wind chills went below -10 later in the overnight hours.
Pacheco is listed as a white female, 4-foot-10, 180 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a blue jacket and black pants. When she left, she was driving a gray 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan with the Kansas tag 807 LMW.
