The United States Postal Service will have normal mail service Wednesday across virtually all of Kansas, including the KVOE listening area.
Late Tuesday afternoon, it did not appear that would be the case. Around 5 pm, the Postal Service said it was suspending delivery operations for the Dakotas, eastern Montana, Iowa, Minnesota and “portions of east Wisconsin, Missouri, Nebraska and Kansas.” The Postal Service has not issued a formal correction, but spokesperson Stacy Hopwood tells KVOE News that Emporia, the KVOE listening area and most of Kansas will have normal service Wednesday. Parts of far northeast Kansas may not receive delivery, but Hopwood says that will be on an isolated basis.
Temperatures will climb to the upper teens across Lyon and surrounding counties Wednesday after overnight lows near zero and wind chills anywhere from -5 to -15.
