One woman has been arrested after an incident which developed in Hartford Sunday afternoon.
Lyon County Deputies along with Lyon County EMS responded to a report that a person had been struck by a vehicle in the 300 block of Commercial Street in Hartford shortly after 4 pm Sunday. According to a press release from the Lyon County Sheriff’s Department, upon investigating authorities learned that Ryan Shepherd, age and hometown not listed and Ashley Everly, age and hometown also not listed, were involved in a verbal altercation.
After the altercation, Shepherd then got into her vehicle, a red passenger car, and drove towards Everly striking her with the vehicle. Shepard then left the area.
Shepherd was later located and taken into custody in Burlington. She was then processed into the Lyon County Jail on suspicion of aggravated battery, aggravated intimidation of a witness and driving with a suspended license. Formal charges are pending.
Everly apparently suffered non-life threatening injuries and it is unclear if she went to a hospital.
Authorities have not confirmed any link between Sunday’s incident and another case involving the two women last fall. Shepherd allegedly sold a small amount of methamphetamine to Everly in mid-October and was arrested originally on suspicion of drug distribution, illegal use of a communication facility and use of paraphernalia with intent.
Shepherd pleaded no contest to distribution last week with the other charges dropped. Sentencing in that case is at 11 am March 19.
Sunday’s incident is still under investigation by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.
