A semi truck driver had some tense moments late Tuesday morning after knocking down Westar Energy power lines in west Emporia.
The driver clipped at least one line in the 800 block of Graham shortly before noon. Emporia Fire and Westar Energy responded to the scene. Emporia Fire advised the driver to stay in the semi while Westar crews got to the scene. About 10 minutes later, Westar deactivated the line and removed it from the truck.
The driver was unhurt and continued his delivery schedule afterward.
