2019 will be a big year for the Emporia Public Library as this will mark the library’s 150th birthday.
To honor their 150th year of service to the area, the Emporia Public Library will be hosting many events such as the “Build-a-Fort Night,” the “Lego Master Builder” and the “Fortnite in Real Life.”
The “Fortnite in Real Life” has been a popular event that brings a multitude of people to the library. The library’s Director, Robin Newell discusses the video game-themed event.
2018 was a great year for the Emporia Public Library, Newell remarks, and 2019 is already looking good. Several of their goals have already been met and others are still in progress.
Some of these partnerships have come from local science groups and the arts council that have assisted on many of the library’s past events.
