Authorities have released the name of the woman who was killed in a single-vehicle crash on the Kansas Turnpike early Friday evening.
According to the Kansas Turnpike Authority, 37-year-old Jennifer Nicole Adams of Wichita was traveling southbound in a Chevy Equinox when her vehicle hydroplaned at mile marker 106, 21 miles southwest of Emporia. The SUV then went into the ditch and overturned.
Adams was ejected from the vehicle which then rolled on top of her as part of the accident. Adams was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident.

The crash was reported at mile marker 106 southbound, 21 miles southwest of Emporia, shortly before 5:30 pm. Emporia Fire Capt. Ben Lienneman says the driver was ejected from an SUV, which rolled on top of her as part of the wreck.
The woman’s name has not been released.
At this time, it is unclear if weather conditions played a role in the crash. Lienneman says there was moderate rainfall and low visibility on the highway shortly after the wreck.

5:45 pm Friday: Rollover crash reported on Kansas Turnpike in Chase County
Law enforcement and rescue personnel are working a reported injury crash southwest of Emporia.
Kansas Highway Patrol troopers and Emporia/Lyon County EMS were dispatched to Kansas Turnpike mile marker 106 southbound, 21 miles southwest of Emporia, after a crash was reported around 5:25 pm. Early indications are an SUV rolled as part of the wreck.
Conditions were wet at the time of the crash. There are no indications of road icing near the crash site, although the Kansas Turnpike Authority says there are isolated slick spots on the highway.
