The Emporia High girls picked up a much needed road win Thursday night out scoring Topeka Hayden 51-44.
The Lady Spartans used a 13-4 run in the 3rd quarter to erase a 3 point halftime deficit and continued the run in the 4th quarter. Coach Carolyn Dorsey said the defensive effort in the 2nd half was the big difference.
3 players scored in double figures led by Taylor Milleson with 13 points. Rayanna Breshears added 12 and Emily Christensen finished with 10 points. The Emporia High girls are now 3-7 for the season and 2-5 in Centennial League play. They will be hosting the Glaciers Edge tournament next week. Emporia High opens against Topeka High.
