Emporia State Federal Credit Union has donated to a pair of local charitable agencies.
The credit union provided checks of $1,207.50 each to Abundant Harvest and Corky’s Cupboard in separate presentations this month.
Funds were gathered through the credit union’s annual Skip-a-Payment program where credit union members were asked to make a donation to local charities with each loan payment skipped.
Abundant Harvest served an estimated 7,000 people last year through food boxes, commodities, evening meals and a clothing store. Corky’s Cupboard, meanwhile, is available to all Emporia State students.
This is the eighth year of the program.
