The window of opportunity is now open for local and area community groups interested in tapping the St. Patrick’s Committee for funding.
Committee member Barb Ternes-Lowery made the announcement during KVOE’s Newsmaker segment Tuesday. As has been the case for over 20 years, Ternes-Lowery says the committee has one major goal in mind:
Ternes-Lowery says the application requests basic information about the organization as well as an explanation of the potential project needing funds.
Ternes-Lowery says the overall fundraising process is earlier than in past years, with applications due by Jan. 22 and the annual auction Feb. 22 at Bruffs Sports Bar and Grill.
This is the 24th annual auction. Prior auctions have generated nearly $290,000 total for 114 area groups and organizations. Last year’s effort produced over $30,000.
One of the committee’s future goals is to endow a scholarship at Flint Hills Technical College in the same vein as the committee’s currently-endowed scholarship at Emporia State University.
Find the application form online at KVOE.com. They are also available through St. Patrick’s Committee members.
