The investigation continues into the traffic death of Jose Angel Montes now six months after his passing.
Police Capt. Dave DeVries says final autopsy results have started coming in but not all of those are in hand.
Montes, 21, was either standing or walking on Interstate 35 near the Burlingame Road exit when he was hit and killed by a semi early July 1. Montes was found after a northbound semi driven by 47-year-old Dewaine Jackson of Amarillo, Texas, was approaching the exit.
It is still unclear why Montes was on the highway. However, DeVries says there is currently nothing to indicate any sort of foul play in Montes’ death.
Lyon County Crime Stoppers has been offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information related to the accident. Anonymous tips can be submitted at 620-342-2273, or via P3 smartphone app or online at p3tips.com.
