Topeka Seaman won both the girls and boys basketball games with Emporia High Friday night.
Seaman won the girls game 51-39. Seaman used a 12-0 run in the 2nd half to build a 17 point lead and never looked back. Emporia High Coach Carolyn Dorsey said they gave up to many runs.
Gracie Gilpin was the leading scorer for the Lady Spartans finishing with 16 points. Taylor Milleson added 12. The Lady Spartans are now 2-6 for the season and 1-4 in league play.
Seaman won the boys game 57-54. It came down to free throw shooting. Seaman was 14-18 from the charity stripe. Emporia High was 9-25. Coach Beau Welch said it was more than missed free throws.
Charles Snyder was the leading scorer for Emporia High finishing with a career high 20 points. The Spartans fall to 5-3 for the season and 2-3 in Centennial League play.
The Spartans go to Manhattan on Tuesday.
