The investigation continues into a vehicle fire that developed Dec. 20 in southwest Emporia.
Fire Battalion Chief Ryan Conley says the cause of the fire in the 300 block of Sherman is currently undetermined. An SUV caught fire close to a trailer home and was totally engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived. Firefighters were able to knock the fire down before it spread to the trailer.
The SUV was a total loss, but there was nobody inside it. There is no official word on who owned the vehicle.
