Newman Regional Health’s new emergency department complex is ready to show off to the community.
A ribbon-cutting event is coming at 4:30 pm Thursday. There will also be an open house and tours to follow. The public is encouraged to attend.
The hospital began planning several years ago to expand and move the emergency department from its longtime home in the southeast corner of the complex to the south-central part of the hospital campus.
Along with the move and expansion, Newman Regional Health has already moved ExpressCare from Flinthills Mall to the complex. The Clinical Decision Unit, also known as patient observation, will move downstairs by early next month. A new cath lab holding area and new infusion clinic should open as part of the complex by mid-January.
