The Kansas Health Foundation is granting Emporia Public Schools money as part of its current push for health improvement projects and what it calls organizational capacity building.
USD 253 is receiving $7,600 for mental health first aid training.
The Health Foundation awarded almost $2 million total to nearly 90 Kansas organizations as part of its Impact and Capacity Grants Initiative. Potential recipients have to address one of the Health Foundation’s four major impact areas, access to care, healthy behaviors, educational achievement and civic or community engagement.
