Rockhurst out scored the Emporia State mens basketball team 60-44 in the 2nd half on the way to a 95-90 win Saturday.
Emporia State led by as many as 17 in the first half and held at 46-35 lead at halftime. After shooting 60 percent in the 1st half the Hornets would shoot 38 percent in the 2nd half. Rockhurst made 63 percent of their shots in the 2nd half. Emporia State Coach Craig Doty said it was a combination of not getting stops and Rockhurst making tough shots.
The Hornets were led in scoring by Justin Washington with 18 points. 15 of those came in the 1st half. Kooper Glick, Malik Hluchoweckyj and Julius Jackson each scored 16 points. Rockhurst was led by Curtis Lewis with 24 points. With the loss the Emporia State men fall to 5-4. They will host McPherson Wednesday night.
