The Emporia High basketball teams open Centennial league play Tuesday night when they host Washburn Rural.
This will be a big challenge for both the girls and boys. The Washburn Rural girls are ranked #2 in 6A. Lady Spartan Coach Carolyn Dorsey says they will try to control the tempo.
Sophomore Emily Christensen says it will take a team effort to win the game.
The Rural boys are ranked 7th in 6A. Boys Coach Beau Welch says this will be a good test.
Junior Beau Baumgardner says they want to prove they are a good team.
Tip-off at Emporia High School for the girls game is set for 6pm followed by the boys game.
