Holiday activities continued Saturday evening with an old-time presentation of a classic holiday tale.
For the third year in a row, the Emporia State University Theater Department presented a special radio adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol. The unique experience allowed audience members to view aspects of the show they normally would not see, such as cast members utilizing everyday items to create sound effects in the background.
The performance was held inside the Karl C. Bruder Theater inside King Hall and featured a cast comprised of both ESU Theater students and faculty members. Before the show began, the cast performed a set of Christmas carols to get the audience into the holiday spirit.
The show was free and open to the public, however, the Theater Department did accept monetary donations which will go towards theatre scholarships as well as contributions of so-called stable food items for Corky’s Cupboard.
