The Emporia Police Department Benefit Association (EPDBA) put on their annual toy drive for foster kids again this year, but this time families get to watch a movie after they donate.
The Granada Theatre is playing host to this year’s annual event that is usually done outside of Walmart. The movie being shown is the Santa Clause after it won on an online poll.
EPDBA President, Jaffar Agha is constantly impressed with the generosity of the local community. He says that this year proves to be no exception.
Agha expresses the importance of the event and reminds us to be thoughtful this giving season. All of the toys, gift cards, and money donated will be going to make sure that the local foster kids have an equally beautiful Christmas as everyone else.
Agha enjoys putting on events such as these, as he believes that it not only benefits the community but also the police department’s public image.
Future events that the EPDBA is involved in are the Polar Plunge, golf tournament, dunk-a-cop, the zombie run, and many more. Information on dates and places can be found on the Emporia Police Department Benefit Association’s Facebook page.
