Emporians are invited to a public meeting to learn more about a major underground infrastructure project downtown.
The city is holding a special meeting Dec. 11 to discuss the upcoming rehabilitation project for the downtown sanitary sewer collection system. The meeting will be at the Municipal Courtroom, 522 Mechanic, starting at 5:30 pm.
Earlier this month, the City Engineering Department completed a so-called dye test to see which lines were active and open. The project was an early step towards determining the health of the downtown sanitary sewer collection system.
If you have questions, either about the project or the upcoming meeting, call the City Engineer’s Office at 343-4260 or Emporia Main Street at 340-6430. City Engineer Jim Ubert will discuss that infrastructure project and others during KVOE’s Talk of Emporia at 11:06 am Monday.
