Christmas spirit was at a high Saturday at the Emporia Public Library as Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and crew stopped by from 9:00-11:00am to hear all the little boys and girls wishes, not to mention eat a tasty breakfast.
The Emporia Public Library has hosted a breakfast and meet and greet with the holly jolly Christmas crew since 1999. The joyous sounds of children’s laughter and live Christmas music filled the air.
While eating a good breakfast and sitting on Santa’s lap may have been the main events, they were not the only ones. A wide variety of activities took place such as arts and crafts, where kids could make jingle bell necklaces. Rudolph and Elfy were there for children to visit and many different games could be played.
Children’s coordinator for the Emporia Public Library, Lori Heller was very pleased with the morning’s turnout. Heller says there wasn’t a time it slowed down.
Many organizations were involved with the event such as the Emporia Arts Center, David Traylor Zoo, and the Emporia Recreation Commission.
