For the first time in a couple days, driving conditions are pretty close to normal — at least on major thoroughfares.
Concerns about overnight freezing fog have not come to fruition across the KVOE listening area, and the combination of melting materials and temperatures around freezing helped to clear a lot of snow and ice from major arterials and so-called collector residential streets in Emporia as well as county road sand highways outside the city limits.
This follows Sunday’s blizzard, which dropped 3-4 inches of snow in Emporia and linked with high winds and a lot of holiday weekend travel to create widespread icing. The ice held on during much of Monday morning before melting.
After a raft of schedule adjustments Sunday and Monday, schedules are back to normal Tuesday. If you have schedule adjustments to report, call KVOE at 342-1400 or email kvoe@kvoe.com.
