Excitement is mounting as the Emporia Community Foundation prepares to announce totals from the fifth annual Match Day earlier this month which will benefit 20 area organizations.
The 2018 Match Day Check Presentations will be taking place Tuesday morning inside Flinthills Mall. This year’s Match Day was unique to year’s past for several reasons, chief among those was the addition of an online donation option.
ECF Executive Director Becky Jeppesen says along with providing an extra opportunity for community members to donate, it also allowed residents to learn more about the organizations they were assisting.
Since it’s inception in 2014, Match Day has raised over $570,000 for area groups, including $210,000 last year alone. While the number of money each group receives differs, Jeppesen says the impact those funds have on each organization is relatively the same.
Residents are encouraged to attend the presentations at Flinthills Mall. You can also tune into coverage on KVOE 1400am and 96.9fm beginning at 11:05 a.m.
