Road work has wrapped up on a trio of road improvement projects in Emporia.
Projects included milling and overlay work on Merchant street from South Ave. to 6th and Industrial Road from U.S. Highway 50 to Interstate 35. Milling and overlay work also took place on Commercial Street from the train tracks to Kansas Avenue.
The projects were part of the City Connecting Link Improvement Project or C-CLIP where the state pays for 80 percent of road improvements and local governments pick up the remaining amount.
City Engineer Jim Ubert explains how they decide which roads to update each year.
Both projects were handled by APAC Kansas Crews.
Meanwhile, city crews continue work on the Kansas Ave Water Main Project.
