Water line work will close down an intersection in southeast Emporia on Thursday.
The city is shutting down Kansas at East to all traffic as a 16-inch water main is installed. Work will also finalize cross-connections to existing lines under the intersection.
Local homeowners will have access to their houses while the closure is in effect. Work should take seven to 10 days to complete, weather permitting.
