The Emporia State mens basketball team began the Craig Doty era with a 83-74 win over #20 Southwest Minnesota State Friday.
The Hornets out scored Southwest 21-7 in the final 7:22 including a 10-2 run to close out the game. Senior Malik Hluchoweckyj led the Hornets in scoring with 22 points. Hassan Thomas had a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds. Kooper Glick added 12 points and 11 rebounds. Sawyer Glick and Justin Washington both scored 10 points. The Hornets will face the University of Sioux Falls Saturday in the MIAA-Northern Sun Crossover tournament. Tip-off Saturday is set for 6pm. The game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM.
