One man will receive prison time for drug distribution and child endangerment charges.
Paul Kienast, 25, was sentenced Tuesday to 44 months as part of a hearing in Lyon County District Court.
Keinast was originally charged with meth distribution, drug and paraphernalia possession, flee and elude, two counts of aggravated endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon by a felon after his arrest in July. Authorities say Kienast and a woman had two arguments in late July, prompting a law enforcement investigation. Kienast was arrested after the discovery of drugs, paraphernalia and shotgun shells in a child’s bedroom. A shotgun was found elsewhere in the dwelling, according to Emporia Police.
Kienast is a registered sex offender. He was sentenced in 2015 after being convicted on two counts of indecent solicitation involving a then-15-year-old female. He was released in May 2017.
