For the first time in school history the Emporia State soccer team has received an NCAA tournament at large bid.
The Lady Hornets are the number 5 seed in the central regional. The will play Minnesota State Mankato in the first round of the sub-regional Friday in Edmond, Oklahoma. Central Oklahoma will be the host and will play Oklahoma Baptist. The two winners will play Sunday to determine who advances to the super regional. The other half of the Central regional has Bemidji State playing Minot State and Central Missouri plays Augustana. The Lady Hornets take a 14-5-1 record into the regional.
