Potential trial dates have been set for an Emporia man accused of drug distribution in town earlier this year.
At a hearing this week in Lyon County District Court, Jacob Rodriguez was set for possible trial settings beginning either Dec. 12, Jan. 87 or Jan. 28. Rodriguez is charged with drug distribution within 1,000 feet of a school, two separate counts of drug paraphernalia possession and one count of illegal use of a communication facility.
Rodriguez is one of five defendants arrested and charged in September after a special investigation involving local law enforcement agencies. Amanda Alvarado has a hearing Friday on drug distribution and child endangerment charges, while Luis Guillen is also tentatively set for a hearing Friday on charges of drug distribution within 1,000 feet of a school and other counts. Cole Bowen, charged with drug distribution, and Seana Herron, charged with drug distribution within 1,000 feet of a school, have separate hearings Nov. 14.
