An Osage County sex offender’s latest appeal has been denied by the Kansas Court of Appeals.
Shayne Lang pleaded no contest to a single count of failure to register as an offender in November 2015 following a sexual exploitation conviction two years earlier. He was then granted 24 months probation with an underlying 18-month prison term if there were violations.
Last year, the state moved to revoke probation after Lang allegedly failed to provide employment verification, failing to report and failing to pay court costs. District court agreed in August.
Lang appealed, saying he had called his probation officer and left messages, but the Court of Appeals sided with district court — saying Lang did not offer employment verification and did not pay court costs as mandated.
