Emporia State University is rolling out the red carpet for the Higher Learning Commission to start the week.
A site visit team from the HLC will be on campus Monday through Wednesday as the university seeks re-accreditation. The HLC, the most widely-recognized accreditation body in the country, has accredited ESU continually since 1915 and last visited Emporia State three years ago.
Full accreditation is important because it demonstrates Emporia State is essentially preparing students well for the future.
In November, Emporia State will have another noteworthy education body on campus as the Kansas Board of Regents comes to town Nov. 7 for a day of meetings.
We’ll preview both sets of meetings during Monday’s Newsmaker 2 segment at 8:20 am on KVOE and KVOE.com.
